Revise Comprehensive Environmental Cleanup and Responsibility Act HB 434
PCEC’s Executive Director, Kerry Fee went up to Helena and testified along side the Director of DEQ, Richard Opper and his staff in opposition to HB434.
Kerry was able to put a “face” on a clean up for the House Committee by using what has been happening here in Livingston over the last 17 years with our rail yard clean up in his testimony.
Even though the bill made it through committee 8-7 in favor, it looks like the testimony worked. This bill is most likely dead.
Disclosure of fracturing fluid for oil and gas wells SB 86
PCEC’s ED, the President of JBTU and members from Northern Plain Resource Council testified in favor of this bill. SB86 would have made the natural gas industry disclose what chemicals they are using during hydraulic fracturing (fracking).
