Recycling in Livingston, Montana

After hosting many years of successful e-recycling events, Park County Environmental Council is happy to announce that Livingston now has e-waste recycling available at the City Transfer Station at 330 Bennett Street behind the City Utility Building.

A private contractor independent of the City collects electronic waste from a shed at the City Transfer and Recycling Station regularly. Items that can be dropped off include:

Televisions, laptops and all computer components, microwave ovens, telephones, cell phones and other electronics. At present, household batteries are not accepted, but the City Transfer Station can accept car and marine batteries.

The City of Livingston provides the following additional recycling at the Transfer Station:

Metal toasters and appliances (in metal recycling), refrigerators and freezers (with $20 freon removal fee), aluminum, paper, cardboard, glass and plastics from 1-7. Plastic DVD cases, even broken down, cannot be recycled and the Station cannot accept plastic bags, but Alberstons and ShopCo have drop locations for plastic bag recycling.

The City of Livingston Transfer Station is open Monday through Saturday from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.

For more information on specific recycling needs, contact the City Utility Office at 222-1142 or visit their website at City of Livingston Recycling.
