DONOR-ADVISED FUNDS

Recommending a donation to Park County Environmental Council through your donor-advised fund is simple. We accept donations from all donor-advised funds, including the Park County Community Foundation. To recommend a donation in support of place-based conservation, you can go through your institution’s grant-making process and recommend a contribution to Park County Environmental Council. Our tax ID is 36-3699660.

Retirement accounts

If you are 72 or older, the IRS requires you to take required minimum distributions (RMDs) annually from tax-deferred retirement accounts such as traditional IRAs and 401(k)s. RMDs are taxed as ordinary income. To reduce or eliminate the taxation of RMD income, you can make a qualified charitable distribution (QCD) to PCEC of up to $100,000 per year. In addition, at age 70 and a half, you can make a QCD before RMDs begin. Amounts given as a QCD are excluded from your taxable income.

To contribute all or a portion of your RMDs, you will need to notify your plan administrator and PCEC.
